The Marine Social Science Network Plymouth (#MarSocSciPlym) was established in November 2019 by myself and Nicola Bridge of the Ocean Conservation Trust. It was borne out of good conversations and a wish to have more conversastions with more people interested in the human-ocean relationship.

The group meets every couple of months in a Plymouth pub. So far this has been the Pub on the Hoe and Rockfish, but we are completely open to other venues that accommodate outdoor seating to be COVID safe, or other requirements for specific meetings. Face to face meetings are entirely informal with members encouraged to share news and views, bring discussion topics or items, and share information via the wider email network. Through the winter of 21/22 we will hold some meetings online which will necessarily be more structured.
