Make 2022 the year of Ocean Recovery

Welcome to my new website! For my first post I’d like you ask that you consider a New Year’s Resolution to do something good for the ocean in 2022 to help us get started on the path to Ocean Recovery.

Here’s a starter to get you going. Write to your local Councillor and ask them to propose the Motion for the Ocean at your local Council, declaring an urgent need for Ocean Recovery.

The Motion for the Ocean gives people a way to do some marine citizenship and get involved in transforming the relationship we have with the sea. It gives direction for local councils who care about the marine environment and helps them make commitments for Ocean Recovery.

On 22nd November 2021, Plymouth City Council became the first Council in the UK to debate the Motion and make an Ocean Recovery Declaration. Find out more here. Ask your Council to play their part too!
